You’ve accidentally sent an email that you’d do anything to get back? Gmail allows its users to “unsend” a message if they change their mind. But you need to be quick as Gmail only gives you a certain amount of seconds to prevent your email from being sent.
How to undo send an email in Gmail
Make sure that you enable the “Undo Send” option
Step 1: Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
Step 2: Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: In the Undo Send section of the General tab, check the box next to Enable Undo Send.
Step 4: Click the box next to Send cancellation period and adjust the number of seconds you’ll be able to undo send your message. You can select 5, 10, 20, or 30 seconds.
Step 5: Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.
Now after you send a message, you will see the message that says Your message has been sent. Undo View message. You just need to click the Undo link to unsend that message.
Depending on your settings, there’s a limited amount of seconds to click Undo before it disappears.
